The catastrophic turkey earthquakes
About
On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake and a series of strong tremors and aftershocks devastated southeast Turkey (officially the Republic of Türkiye) and northwest Syria. The death toll has passed 47,000 and continues to rise. Two weeks later, on February 20, 2023, an additional 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey, causing additional deaths and injuries.Tens of thousands are injured and hundreds of thousands displaced across a region already beset by turmoil from the nearly 12-year conflict in Syria and the ongoing refugee crisis. After working desperately for nearly two weeks to locate additional survivors, search and rescue teams from around the world are largely shifting to recovery efforts. Reports indicate that there are over 87,000 injuries and at least 47,000 buildings have been destroyed or damaged. (All pictures are subject to copyright)

action
We were on the ground in cooperation with our partners Project Rescue Children within the first 72 hours. The sheer devastation and scale of damage and affected children was on a level like nothing before. Thousands of children and families lost everything except the clothes on their backs. We immediately put things in to place to provide blankets, and Winter clothing to protect them from the freezing Winter weather.

Vision
We have a team of volunteers on the ground covering the major Eastern cities hit by the earthquakes. We are continuing the support and care of the children and their families through the direct assistance of our donors providing clothing, and humanitarian aid.
direct assistance
In the first three weeks we have distributed over 10,000 items to victims of the earthquakes. We have seen three ruther major earthquakes since the first on the 6th February. People are scared to enter buildings and mostly sleep in cares and tents.

hope
We have a simple but effective strategy. Receive donations, withdraw those donations locally, buy local products to help increase local economy, support local business and hand directly to the people most affected.
